How old do you have to be to drive a rental car?

You must be at least 21 years old in order to be able to drive a rental vehicle. An additional young driver's fee will be applied for drivers under the age of 25 and drivers who have less than 2 years of driving experience.

What documents do I need to submit in order to rent a car?

When you come to us to hire a car, you must submit the following documents:

  • A valid driver's license that proves you have at least 2 years of driving experience;
  • A personal identification card or passport.

Warning! Every additional driver that intends to use the hired vehicle must also submit a valid driver's license.

Will I have to pay a deposit for the rental car?

Yes. You will have to pay the deposit before picking up your vehicle. The size of your deposit will depend on the price of your chosen car and the terms and conditions of the insurance you purchase. If you return the rental vehicle in sound condition without causing any damage to the car or the rental service provider, you will get your full deposit back. Deposit amounts:

  • EUR 300.00 for a light passenger vehicle
  • EUR 300.00 for a minibus

Is there a limit to the distance I can cover?

We allow a run of up to 300 km per day (24 hours). If you exceed the daily limit, we will apply an additional fee of EUR 0.10/km.

Do I have to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel?

Yes. All of our cars are rented out with a full tank, so you will have to return the vehicle you have rented with a full tank too. If you fail to do so, you will have to pay an additional fuel filling fee, which is set at EUR 100 (one hundred euros)

Can you guarantee that I will get the specific model of car that I want?

We can usually offer you the cars that are listed on our website. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will get the exact model that you want, but we can guarantee your chosen class of car. If we have nothing to offer you from your chosen vehicle group, we will offer you a vehicle from a higher class.

Can I add an additional driver?

We can incorporate an additional driver into your car rental agreement for free (if they meet the requirements we have set for drivers). All other additional drivers must submit valid driver's licenses and comply with all of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement, just like the principal driver.

Can you deliver and pick up the rental vehicle?

Can I pick my rental car up from one rental point and return it to another?

Yes. Just inform us in advance which rental point will be most convenient to you as you rent your car.

What do I do if a traffic accident occurs with the rental car?

If the rental car is involved in a traffic accident, do the following:

  • Contact LitCarRent by calling +370 650 55822.
  • Inform the police about the event and ensure that the traffic accident is appropriately reported. Documents and certificates issued by the police as well as traffic accident declarations and vehicle documents will be used for securing an insurance payment and pressing charges against the third party for damages; therefore you must make sure that these documents are filled in properly.

What do I do if I want to travel beyond the Lithuanian border?

You do not have to do anything because you can travel freely throughout the entire European Union.

Do you charge for car washing services?

No, we do not apply any additional fees for washing your rental car once you have returned it, unless you return the car in an incredibly untidy state, for example, if passengers smoked inside the car or if animals were transported in the car without using the appropriate containers.

What kind of additional fees will be added to my online reservation fee?

There will be no additional fees added to your online reservation. All of the fees for your online booking are indicated including VAT, insurance, 300 km run and 24/7 technical assistance. We will return your deposit once you have returned the undamaged rental car and we have made sure that no damage has been done to the car or the rental service provider.

How do I make sure that my order has been confirmed?

Your order is considered to be confirmed once you have received an official confirmation letter and order number by email. The email must contain links to information about the rental services, terms and conditions and order number.

How can I pay for the rental services?

We accept cash, wire transfers and card payments. All payment cards must be issued in the name of our customer.

How old are your rental vehicles?

Our fleet of cars is regularly changed and renewed. The vehicles we currently offer are 2-5 years old.

How often do you service your vehicles?

All of our cars undergo technical maintenance procedures in strict compliance with the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations. All of our cars are meticulously cleaned before they are rented out to customers. We guarantee that your rental car will be clean and technically sound!

What happens if I violate road traffic regulations?

If the customer violates road traffic regulations, they shall be liable for the violation as established by the law. In addition to the standard administrative fee, a fine will be deducted from the customer's deposit. The personal information of customers who have violated road traffic regulations will always be passed on to the responsible authorities.

What am I responsible for as the customer renting the rental vehicle?

You are responsible for checking regular vehicle indicators such as tire pressure, engine oil, window and light washer fluid, etc. Damaged front and side windows, wheels, radiator and tires are considered to be your responsibility.

How big is the car's insurance deductible?

The insurance deductible of the car is EUR 300.00.
